Rosario Harriott's brace secured victory for Dinthill as they defeated Annotto Bay 4-0, while Sievon Thompson's 42nd-minute strike gave Bog Walk victory over St Mary Technical in yesterday's Inter-zone round daCosta Cup double-header at Clembhard's Park in Port Maria.
In the first encounter under wet and slippery conditions, Dinthill dominated play with goals coming from Harriot, Carlos Smith (35th) and Tevin Skyers (80th).
Dinthill, relishing the conditions, took the lead in the 14th minute when Annotto Bay custodian O'Neil Brown failed to handle the ball and an alert Harriott toed the ball into an open goal.
Annotto Bay tried to get back into the game through Michael Cousins, Kristoff Forrester and Sheldon Davis, but found Glenroy Bartley too tough to handle.
Dinthill went further ahead in the 35th minute when Smith's shot from the edge of the penalty area was too much for Brown to handle as they went into the break 2-0 up.
In the second half Dinthill went further ahead when Harriott completed his brace after picking up a ball 40 yards out and chipped over the head of the goalie for a 3-0 lead. Seven minutes later, Skyers sealed the issue when he fired past Brown.
Annotto Bay were reduced to 10 players when referee Kevin Thomas sent off Andre Catnott for his second booking in the 82nd minute.
In the second encounter, Thompson gave Bog Walk victory with the lone goal of the game. The game was more attacking than the first as Bog Walk's attack was led by Daver Hair, Ryan Wellington and Oshane O'Connor, while St Mary Technical countered through Danadoni McDonald, Gihon Murdock and Gavin Robinson.
Bog Walk took the lead just before the half ended as the St Mary custodian failed to hold onto the ball and Thompson tapped into an open goal.
The second half saw both teams relishing the conditions but not getting on the scoresheet. Referee Kevin Thomas sent off St Mary's Donovan Foreman and Bog Walk's Ryan Wellington in the 78th minute for violent conduct as both teams were reduced to 10 players.
