MONTE CARLO, Monaco - Wellesley and Jennifer Bolt, parents of triple Olympic gold medallist, Usain Bolt, are due to leave the island today for Monaco where they will attend Sunday's IAAF World Athletics Gala at the Salle des Etoiles of the Sporting Club d'Ete in the Principality of Monaco.

The Bolts are guests of the International Associations of Athletics Federations (IAAF) and are expected to arrive
here on Saturday after flying overnight.

The Bolts are expected to witness first-hand their son winning at least two awards at the events that will be broadcast live to over 100 countries around the world.

The 22-year-old Usain was nominated in two categories, the Male Athlete of the Year and Male Performance of the Year after breaking two records and assisting in breaking a third at the Beijing Olympics in August.

Bolt broke his own 100m record and 200m record in 9.69 seconds and 19.30 seconds, respectively, and was part of the 4x100m relay team that ran 37.10 seconds to set a new standard.

The other awards to be given out on Sunday are Revelation of the Year, Rising Star Award, Distinguished Career Award, Inspirational Award and Coaches Award.

The event will be shown live in over 100 countries worldwide by 17 broadcasters including Pan-Africa: CFI, Pan-Europe: Eurosport, and the Middle East: Al Jazeera.

It will also be streamed live on the Internet on the IAAF website, www.iaaf.org.
