Rusea's High and Port Antonio High strengthened their chances of advancing from the ISSA/Grace Headley Cup second round after scoring victories in matches brought forward yesterday.
At Folly Oval, Port Antonio carved out a seven-wicket win over Clarendon College who posted a pedestrian 143 for eight declared from 66 overs.
But the hosts marched on briskly to claim victory less than 10 minutes before the 6:00 pm cutting off time, finishing on 147-3.
Horace Grossett spearheaded the win for the Carl Brissett-coached Port Antonio topscoring with 51 after claiming 5-43.
Earlier, Clarendon suffered a double collapse as Kirk Harris (62) and Devero Smith (56no) added 105 runs for the fourth wicket, taking the score from 22 for three.
Time was of essence following Harris' departure, but the next four wickets went for 16 runs before the declaration came.
Grossett batting at number three then contributed to the hosts' solid response before Jamie Gray (49no) and Romeo Crawford (8no) took them to their second straight win in Group IV.
Everything went perfectly for home team Rusea's High as the combined efforts of Creeton Shearer (68no) and Junior Ramsoram (6-23) propelled them to a 18-run win over Cornwall College.
After winning the toss and electing to bat, Rusea's posted 180 all out with Shearer getting an unbeaten half-century against the bowling of Cornwall's off-spinner Chevaughn Brown, who captured 5-29.
In reply Cornwall struggled against the medium pace of Ramsoram, who grabbed the last five wickets in his second spell, as the visitors fell short at 162.
Jaymar Chin (38) and Leroy McKenzie's 37 not out, were the top scorers for Cornwall, who are out of contention for a semi-final spot as this was their second straight loss.
In other second-round of matches today, defending champions St Elizabeth Techincal (STETHS) travel to early Group One leader Frome Technical, while Manchester High, who have a point following their no result match at STETHS, visit Muschett High.
Many-time Champions Holmwood Technical will seek to place themselves in the driver's seat and claim top spot in Group Two as they'll be on the road to Munro College.
Group Three matches see Brown's Town hosting Vere Technical, Charlemont entertaining Seaforth High, while Dinthill Technical will try to get back on track as they await Tacky High in the lone Group Four.
All Matches begin at 10:00am.
