Tivoli clip uninspired Waterhouse

Tivoli Gardens took a step closer toward the 2008/2009 Digicel Premier League title by defeating Waterhouse 1-0 at Drewsland yesterday.

Tivoli, who are now only two points behind leaders and defending champions Portmore United with 70 points after going down 1-3 to Boys' Town yesterday, got the important three points from a Roland Dean strike in the 72nd minute.

Tivoli coach Lenworth Hyde was happy to leave Drewsland with maximum points. "I am very pleased with the 1-0 win as it is never easy winning at Waterhouse... with two more games remaining, the victory just set the stage for a grand finish to the tournament," he said.

At no time throughout the 90 minutes did Waterhouse look as though they were on the field to win the game and this angered coach Paul Young. "The team showed no urgency... we should have been more committed and played," he mourned.
