Triple Olympic gold medallist Usain Bolt is promising a fast time in his first 200-metre race on European soil this season at the IAAF Super Grand Prix meet in Lausanne, Switzerland, on July 7.

BOLT... I'll be running all out to see where my form is

"For me Lausanne will definitely be a testing ground for myself," Bolt told the Observer after completing the sprint double at last weekend's National Senior Championships.

The 22-year-old sprint star who produced a world-leading 9.86 seconds despite running into a slight headwind (-0.2 m/s) to win the 100m on Saturday, returned Sunday to easily win the 200m in 20.25secs (wind -2.4 m/s).

"I'll be going there to really see where I'm exactly at, so I'll be running all out to see where my form is and just see what work I need to do to better my 200m," added Bolt, who travelled to Europe with other members of the Glen Mills-coached Racers Track Club.

Bolt, who posted six sub-20secs clockings over the longer sprint in 2008, won the Lausanne event in a swift 19.63secs.

The current world-leading mark of 19.58 in the half-lap event was posted by defending world 100 and 200m champion Tyson Gay at the Reebok Grand Prix on May 30.

The 2008 IAAF Male Athlete of the Year, who shot to global stardom after clocking world record times of 9.69 and 19.30 seconds to win the 100m and 200m at the Beijing Olympics, says he will be working on the technical aspects of both distances in the lead-up to the World Championships in Berlin.

"I think we'll be working hard on probably starts and a few other things," Bolt told the Observer.

"I think I'm a little bit behind that (Beijing form), but I have a lot of work to do... (but) I'm ready to do it and there won't be any distraction in Europe, so I'm looking forward to that," he added.
