Reid, who will be undertaking these duties for the third consecutive staging which pits teams from North America, Central America and the Caribbean, told the Observer a day before he left the island that he was honoured to be considered once again for the awesome job.
"It's always an honour to serve in the sport at any level. This is my third appointment, having been appointed in 2005 and 2007; the difference on this occasion is that CONCACAF has asked me to manage two of the venues instead of one, but I'm ready for the challenge," said the respected football administrator at the JFF offices in New Kingston on Wednesday.
Reid will act as venue co-ordinator for the 71,000-capacity Reliant Stadium in Houston, where Group C matches will be played and the 67,000-seater Lincoln Financial field in Philadelphia, which will host a quarter-final game.
Reid's mandate will include the overall management of the venues, including accommodation and transportation of the teams, as well as event marketing and broadcast systems.
"(I will be) responsible for the overall management of the venues, ensuring that everything is in place such as
the accommodation and transportation of the teams.
"I will also have to ensure that all of the stadium facilities are in order and that the services that support the game are in fact in place," shared Reid.
".There is some oversight responsibility as well such as marketing and promotion, management of the television and broadcast set-up, and so on. So it's a very wide range of responsibilities, but generally I'll be responsible for all aspects of the venue," he added.
Reid believes the increased confidence placed in him by the regional body mirrors the capacity of local administrators.
"It (appointment) speaks to the talent that exists in the Caribbean and particularly in Jamaica. I believe we do have administrators in Jamaica who possess the wherewithal to operate at the highest level of football. CONCACAF is taking a wider look at the talent at its disposal and hopefully I'll do a good job."
