Likkle Bit could play big in Overnight event

The absence of a sponsored race on the nine-race midweek card at Caymanas Park today has shifted the spotlight to the Overnight Allowance three-year-old and upward event over 1,400 metres where the American import Likkle Bit holds the key. First post is 1:05 pm.
Likkle Bit, a bay gelding by Family Calling out of Herecomesthegirls (Northern Flagship) has only won one race from seven starts but get what is for him an ideal trip and with the seven-horse just about even should little difficulty in scoring his second win of the season. Even coming in at top weight of 55.00kg, indications are that the capital effort is imminent. He ran well with the same weight while sprinting over a shorter distance on last and although the weight is still tact will be seen to better advantage over the longer trip even in the face of the lightly weighted Slogan, Prime Minister and Tobago who ran a smart 1:25.1 at the higher level.

Since then Tobago a sly eight-year-old bay gelding to be ridden by Clive Lynch has not been himself but for him this is not surprising and Kingsley Davis-trained son of Kdanzc could turn up at any time for a capital effort. Nonetheless Likkle Bit looks hard to oppose.
Conditioned by the champion and leading trainer Wayne DaCosta for owners New Blue, the son of Family Calling has worked well for the event and with jockey Shane Ellis called to the saddle in the absence of the injured Omar Walker is in safe enough hands to justify his morning line favouritism.
