Jamaican pair captures regional volleyball title

Wednesday, November 11, 2009

Mark Lewis and Dany Wilson won another Sizzlin Sands Beach Volleyball title in Barbados last Sunday.

This triumph comes immediately after their second-place finish in the final leg of the North, Central America and the Caribbean (NORCECA) Beach Volleyball Circuit in Nicaragua.

The dominant Jamaicans defeated the Barbadian pair of Elwyn Oxley and Gregory Gill in a memorable encounter at Brandons Beach, thereby solidifying their No 1 ranking in the region.

They have already qualified for the Central American and Caribbean (CAC) and Pan-American Games.

The Jamaica Volleyball Association (JAVA) wishes them all the very best as they seek to qualify for the 2012 Olympics in London and participate in the myriad of global tournaments in an effort to deepen and widen their professional careers.
