Maggotty High kept their hopes of advancing from the first round alive after scoring a 2-1 win over Lacovia High in their rescheduled ISSA/Wata daCosta Cup Zone E game at Appleton Sports Club yesterday.

The win took Maggotty High to 17 points, one behind second-placed Munro College with a game in hand as the race for the second automatic spot behind zone winners St Elizabeth Technical heats up.

Davin Alexander scored his third goal of the season, while Andre Ennever, who got his first goal of the campaign, got on the score sheet for Maggotty High, setting up a big clash against Munro College on Saturday.

Old Harbour High had their hopes of advancing badly affected after they were beaten 1-2 by Foga Road in their twice postponed Zone N game that started at 11:00am.

The loss left Old Harbour High in third place on nine points, trailing leaders Vere Technical and Central High, both on 10 points.
