Promoted outfit Molynes United will be hoping to rekindle their early season winning form against struggling The University of the West Indies (UWI) FC in Red Stripe Premier League (RSPL) action at Constant Spring field today at 3:00 pm.

In other early fixtures, third-placed Mount Pleasant FA (19 points) square off against fourth-placed Humble Lion FC (18 points) at Drax Hall in St Ann; and champions Portmore United, in eighth position on 12 points visit 10th-placed Tivoli Gardens (nine points) at Edward Seaga Complex.

Ninth-placed Dunbeholden FC will welcome cellar dwellers Vere United (eight points) to Royal Lakes Complex in St Catherine for the other 3:00 pm kick-off.

Leaders Waterhouse FC (24 points) will feature in the day's late contest against sixth-placed Harbour View (16 points) at Drewsland Stadium at 7:00 pm.

Before that, all eyes will be on second-placed Molynes United (20 points), who started the campaign like a house on fire with six-consecutive wins, but have since withered, losing three and drawing two.

However, they could very well return to winning ways today and provisionally close the gap on Waterhouse, against a UWI team that is currently in 11th position on eight points, having won only once this season.

A previous meeting between the two teams at the top of the season, ended 3-2 in favour of Molynes United, and while it is again expected to be a close affair, the Lij Simms-coached team could again come out on top.

On the other hand, this fixture also represents an opportunity for Andrew Peart and his UWI team to capitalise on Molynes United's winless run.

Portmore United are sitting in eighth position with 11 points and searching for answers, while Waterhouse are looking good, perched atop the 12-team league on 23 points.

A humdinger is expected at Drax Hall as both Mount Pleasant and Humble Lion are enjoying rich veins of form, which they will be hoping to maintain at the end of this contest.

The Paul “Tegat” Davis-conditioned Mount Pleasant are currently on a five-match unbeaten run, while Andrew Price's Humble Lion unit have not been beaten in their last six fixtures.

With both teams currently on top of their game, fans will be in for a treat as both teams seek to inflict further damage on their respective records, and by extension keep abreast of the leaders.

Neither champions Portmore United or their hosts Tivoli Gardens have been enjoying the season thus far and while it is still early days yet, both will be desperate to put a tick in the win column in today's meeting.

That said, the spoils might also very well be shared between them as neither have really shown any real goalscoring form, which has left them where they are now. Both teams have only scored eight goals in 11 games, while conceding 13 and 14 goals, respectively.

Another contest that could go either way is the one between Dunbeholden and the other promoted team, Vere United, as both are still struggling to find some semblance of form.

It should be noted, however, that their current position is not due to a lack of trying, as both possess some amount of quality that has produced good performances on their day, but the results have just not fallen in their favour.

The well-organised Waterhouse team on a mission to end their two-year bridesmaid status, could extend their three-match unbeaten run against Harbour View, who had their unbeaten run ended in a 3-0 defeat to Arnett Gardens on last.

This represents another good contest in the making, but Waterhouse will start favourites, having slammed their opponents 7-0 in their last meeting, while Harbour View will be hoping to make amends on this occasion.

On Monday night, sixth-placed Arnett Gardens, on 16 points, will be away to seventh-placed Cavalier (14 points) at Stadium East field at 8:00 pm.
