Many-time champions St George's College (STGC) maintained their unbeaten run and by extension stretched their lead atop Group F with a 2-0 win over hosts Calabar High yesterday in the ISSA/Digicel Manning Cup competition.

The win lifted STGC to 22 points from eight games, six points ahead of Eltham High, who were 3-0 winners over Ardenne High in the other group contest.

Third-placed Calabar, on 10 points, are now in danger of missing out on the second round, while out-of-contention Ardenne High are rooted at the foot of the group standing on three points.

Over in Group E, Wolmer's Boys' continue to apply pressure on Jamaica College (JC) in the race for the top spot. They hammered Jose Marti Technical 6-0 to move to 23 points, two behind JC, while Vauxhall High (third with 19 points) kept up the chase with a 4-0 win over fifth-placed Greater Portmore, who are on eight points.

Fourth-placed Tarrant High moved to 10 points with a 2-0 win over cellar dwellers Innswood High, who are still without a point in eight games.

Holy Trinity High blanked Bridgeport High 3-0 to remain at the summit of a closely contested Group A, on 18 points, one ahead of Cumberland High, who edged Haile Selassie 1-0 to move to 17 points. Bridgeport High, are now out of contention in fifth position on 10 points from nine games, while Haile Selassie have slipped to fourth on 12 points, overtaken by St Jago, who moved to 14 points with a 3-0 win over Clan Carthy, who are pointless at the foot of the standings.
