Head Coach Theodore Whitmore will travel with the senior Reggae Boyz team for their two-match friendly international tour of the Eastern Caribbean this week, after he was initially axed from the tour.

However, the clumsy manner in which the head coach — who had tendered his resignation but later rescinded it — has been handled in this particular situation shows no signs of relenting as though he will be on tour, he will have no official duties as head of the technical staff.

In a release from the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) yesterday, it was revealed that the former Reggae Boyz star player will be a part of the delegation, but head coach remains Jerome Waite, with Donovan Duckie as his assistant, thus forcing Whitmore to the sidelines for these two games.

Last weekend JFF President Michael Ricketts defended Whitmore's non-inclusion in the travel party. “All that decision took place before 'Tappa' had withdrawn his resignation. The arrangements had been done before,” he told the Jamaica Observer.

“We could not have catered for Whitmore because we didn't know that he was going to withdraw his resignation, so we couldn't sit and wait during the arrangements,” he further explained.

Some members of the delegation were slated to depart the island yesterday, while others, some of whom participated in last night's Red Stripe Premier League final between Waterhouse and Portmore United inside the National Stadium, are slated to depart today. The full delegation will arrive in St Kitts tomorrow, one day ahead of their first game against the hosts at Warner Park Football Stadium in Basseterre slated for an 8:00 pm kick-off.

They then travel to Antigua for another game against that nation set for Sunday at the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Stadium at 7:00 pm.
