BROWN'S TOWN, St Ann — York Castle High scored their first win in the ISSA/Western Conference schoolboy basketball competition on Friday, splitting their double-header at home with Green Pond High and Rhodes Hall, while rebounding from their double loss at Cornwall College on Monday.

York Castle, who are playing in the Western Conference due to lack of teams in the Northern Conference, beat Green Pond High 53-16 in the Under-19 section after losing to Rhodes Hall 14-48 in the Under-16 game.

Jadeen Bennett scored 16 points to lead York Castle in the Under-19 game as they took control of the game early, leading 13-2 after the first quarter.

Jordan Adams also had nine points and seven steals for the home team, as Cenitto Edwards scored 10 points for Green Pond, who were outscored 28-4 in the second half.

Rhodes Hall had their first win when they romped to an easy win in the Under-16 game as Javani Davis scored 27 points, almost getting twice as many as the entire York Castle team.

Akeem Davis also scored 11 point for Rhodes Hall.
