Dear Orchid Doc:

My orchids have all been turning yellow from the bottom up. I don't understand what is happening, as I spray them every two weeks with a combination of Caprid, Newmectin, Pegasus, Confidor and sulfide.

Bee of Hill Road

Dear Bee:

I am in shock! What could have made you use so many chemicals and all at the same time? Your best bet is to flush your orchids with fresh water, at least once per day.

Best of luck

Dear Orchid Doc:

I have been having problems with my orchids. They are growing too tall with no root in the middle to acccomodate new blooms. They are much too tall. Do you have any suggestions?

Dear Rutha:

Two things immediately come to mind:

1 You might have them in too much shade.

2. Some species send out more roots than others.
