T he story of my bag starts out like most other fashion finds — I had an event!

I was invited to a friend's wedding in late summer of 2017. It was a big to do with everyone talking about the who's who guest list and the uber-exclusive venue. I knew that it was going to be a very stylish wedding.

Having just had a baby I was still a bit self-conscious so I called on a friend of mine, and let me be honest, one of my husband's stylists Rosie Philildor.

I sent her my new “baby weight” measurements and asked her to help me find an outfit. She got back to me with a fresh-off-the-runway Elizabeth and James red jumpsuit with flowing chiffon detail; it was gorgeous. I now had to have the perfect accessories.

I searched the blogs and social media and found the perfect bag. A small structured bag with a key lock closure. The sliding chain strap can be worn multiple ways, changing between a shoulder and a top handle bag, made in metallic leather with a cracked laminate effect — can we say, perfect! BUT, yes, every good story has one 'but': it had not been released in stores yet. Of course the bag I want is only available to the likes of Beyoncé!

The next day Sean called me from Paris with the usual check-in, but this time he made the mistake of asking if I needed anything.

Why, yes, of course, I neeeeded this bag and if anyone could get a pre-release it would my darling husband in Paris, the mecca of everything fashion.

The request was naturally met with the usual “Jodi, you have enough bags.” Long story short, though — I got the bag but Sean added on a few extra shows in Europe so I didn't get the Gucci Padlock small metallic shoulder bag in time for the wedding, but I think it's a great addition to my collection and it, of course, makes for a great story!
