With its newly launched production line running at full throttle, Red Stripe is getting ready to increase exports in 2018.

But as part of the Heineken Company, the Spanish Town Road brewery is sending more than just the great Jamaican beer overseas. The corporate giant recently deployed its head of sales Moses Williams to take up a new post at South Pacific Brewery in Papua New Guinea. Williams assumes the role of head of commerce, overseeing both the sales and marketing portfolios.

“Jamaica's operations are diverse in nature and give exposure not only to our beer business, but also to spirits. I believe this, along with the functional and leadership training provided by Red Stripe, enabled me to stand out from the other candidates,” said Williams.

Williams joined Red Stripe in July 2006 and has since held a number of senior roles within the sales function, including key account management, business development and commercial management.

He also gained tremendous route to market experience during his tenure as national sales manager to Celebration Brands Ltd, the joint venture distribution company formed by Red Stripe and Pepsi Jamaica in 2013.

“This new opportunity has been bittersweet. I'm excited about the possibilities, but sad to leave my Red Stripe family. Really and truly I owe a lot to this great company and still believe it's an excellent place to learn, grow and excel,” Williams said.

With a global footprint that spans over 70 countries, Heineken has a talent pool of over 73,500 employees. Red Stripe continues to provide exposure and attractive opportunities for team members, including on-the-job training and overseas assignments that provide invaluable exposure.

The corporate giant prides itself on having some of Jamaica's best talent on board and is confident that its workforce will achieve the target of one million hectolitres by 2020.
