Samsung has introduced a new SmartThings app, which enables users to control an ecosystem of compatible smart devices including household items with integrated Internet of Things (IoT) technologies.

According to the tech giant, the app's main aim is to make it easy to manage a connected lifestyle, whether it be at home, at the office, or on the go.

The new app unites Samsung Connect, Smart Home, and Smart View among others, a move which will make it easier to connect and control hundreds of devices directly by phone, TV, or car — all from a single application.

Samsung boasts that paired with the recently launched Galaxy S9, people can use their smartphone to see who's at the front door through their connected doorbell, check what's in their Family Hub fridge when planning for dinner, and receive real-time notifications when their laundry is finished or the floors need to be vacuumed.

Samsung noted that its Smart TVs is also integrated with SmartThings and allows users to effortlessly transfer login information from the Galaxy S9 to the TV.
