The taping of the 2012 BET Hip-Hop Awards was reminiscent of the Source Awards in the 1990s, with several high-profile rappers and their entourages being embroiled in physical brawls. Altercations included Rick Ross and Young Jeezy, and Rick Ross's Gunplay with members of 50 Cent's G-Unit.

The late Elvis Presley has been deposed of another of his records, this time being the Most Chart Entries on the Billboard Top 100 singles, by rapper Lil' Wayne. Lil' Wayne surpassed Presley with his 109th chart entry, courtesy of a feature on Game's Celebration. Last year, Jay-Z broke Presley's record for Most Number-One Albums as well.

Jamaica continues to show its fascination with RIM's smartphone BlackBerry, as it has been proclaimed that BlackBerry has approximately 80 per cent of the nation's consumer and business market.

EA Sports has cancelled its once market-dominating NBA Live for this calendar year, due to damaging reviews by critics and consumers alike of its predecessors, whom have now developed a seemingly loyal affinity for Sega's NBA 2K series.

Pop-R&B superstar Chris Brown has released a video for the emotional ballad Don't Judge Me, the latest single from his album Fortune.
