4 US Presidential candidate Mitt Romney has come under attack by some members of the educational media fraternity due to his wish to cut funding for the television station PBS, if he is elected president. Educational programmes that appear on PBS include the children's favourite Sesame Street.

5 The popular National Hockey League (NHL) that's based in Canada and the United States, will experience a two-week lockout in the upcoming season due to a revenue share dispute between team owners and the players association. This will result in over 80 games being cancelled.
