Christmas at the Mansion
Tuesday, December 20, 2011
LAST Saturday the TEENage Observer Writer's Club enjoyed an afternoon of mingling, games, gift exchange and, of course, a bit of lunch. In short, we had Christmas in a mansion.
Set inside the ballroom of the historic Devon House, we got the chance to tour and experience the ambiance of the beautifully maintained house, while enjoying our last group meeting for 2011.
A game of bingo got everybody on edge as we competed for the contents of a small giftbag (and let's just say the prize was also small). A few rounds of cards also took place until our stomachs growled. We shared a meal together and then grouped to one end of the long table to begin our annual pixie exchange.
Closing off the formalities, we did our usual cake cutting and of course some of us couldn't resist the urge to indulge in a scoop from the fourth best place in the world to eat ice cream (as said by National Geographic).
The Club says a special thank you to the team at Devon House, who accommodated us for our end-of-year retreat.
