FORMER champions Frome Technical will seek this afternoon to be the first school to win three straight games in the ISSA/Gatorade/Digicel daCosta Cup schoolboys' football competition when they take on Merlene Ottey High in Zone B.
Frome Technical is coming off a 3-2 win over Herbert Morrison on Saturday after opening up their season with a 3-1 win over Cambridge.
Merlene Ottey has played just one game so far, losing to Green Island and will face Tevin Williams, who has scored in both games played so far.
Six games are scheduled to be played today with defending champions Rusea's hosting Green Island and Herbert Morrison at home to Cambridge in Zone B.
Mannings will seek to rebound from their loss to Petersfield on Saturday when they host Grange Hill in Sav in a Zone D game while Little London and Godfrey Stewart meet as well. In Zone J, St Mary High will face Brimmervale.
On Saturday, 11 schools won back-to-back games including Black River High, who came from behind to upset Munro College 2-1 in Black River.
Kimani Johnson equalised for Black River before Garth Banton volleyed home the winner with a left footer from about 25 yards out.
Delroy Miller followed up his hat-trick last week to score one of Manchester High's two goals in their 2-1 win over Cross Keys High. Kevon Isaacs scored the other goal for Manchester.
With both Rusea's High and Green Island out of action, Frome Technical raced to the top of Zone B with a 3-2 win over Herbert Morrison in Montego Bay.
Tevin Miller, who scored in his second straight game, Kenardo Cooper and Odean Davis were the scorers for Frome, who are on six points.
Muschette High scored back-to-back wins in Zone C, edging newcomers Holland 2-1 while Spot Valley opened their account with a 2-0 win over Hopewell at home.
In Zone M, former champions Glenmuir High and Garvey Maceo scored consecutive wins; Glenmuir edged Bustamante High 1-0, to end their winning start, while Garvey Maceo outscored Porus 3-2 and Denbigh edged Fogo Road 1-0.
Spalding beat Holmwood Technical 2-0 to take over the lead in Zone G on six points while Lennon High were 2-0 winners over Thompson Town to take the lead in Zone H, both on six points.
Brown's Town made it two in a row in Zone I by beating Albert Town 3-0 while Marcus Garvey rebounded from their opening loss to beat Ocho Rios 3-0 as Cedric Titus beat York Castle 3-1.
Iona were 3-0 winners over Islington to take the lead in Zone J, while Dinthill Technical extended their winning start with a 3-2 win over Charlemont High in Zone K while Bog Walk beat McGrath 3-1.
