Rihanna makes her way to the top

It is alleged that Barbadian pop star Rihanna is the top-selling digital artiste in the United States.

According to Nielsen SoundScan, she has sold more than 47 million tracks to the end of 2011 putting her ahead of Lady GaGa, Katy Perry, Britney Spears and Beyoncé.

Black Eyed Peas are in the number two spot, but also hold the honour of having the biggest-selling digital track to date with I Gotta Feeling.

Other acts that finished in the top 10 selling digital artistes include rapper Eminem in third, Lady GaGa in fourth, Taylor Swift at number five, Katy Perry taking number six, Lil Wayne in seventh place, Beyoncé finishing eighth, with rapper Kanye West and pop star Britney Spears taking in ninth and 10th, respectively.

Bounty Killer and Mavado are friends again

Bounty Killer (Rodney Price) and his protégé Mavado (David Brooks) are friends again. The two artistes agreed to put their differences aside and embraced at the popular event, Uptown Mondays, signalling an end to their feud.

"Alliance a run the ting", fans were heard shouting, as they applauded the move by the two top artistes. There has been a rift in Alliance since an incident at Bounty's birthday party last year, but the two felt it was time to patch things up.

I-Octane bottled at show

Of all the occurrences at the Western Kite Festival held at Manning's School in Savanna-la-Mar, Westmoreland, the bottle-throwing incident at the event was the most memorable.

Popular reggae act I-Octane was the recipient of the barrage of bottles due to a premature end to his performance after he threw the mic on the stage and walked off.

According to the promoter, there was a sound problem and it was explained to the artiste when he entered the venue. She continued by saying that Popcaan worked around it and so, too, did Romain Virgo. Everything went smoothly until I-Octane entered the stage.

Octane, however, had a different explanation for what happened. He claims that to avoid a conflict on stage, he walked off. As soon as I-Octane made it clear that he was leaving, the bottles started raining on stage.
