THIS Friday marks the start of the London Olympic Games; which will run from July 27 to August 12.
This week, TEENage has decided to give you a short preview to the 30th Summer Olympics, The Games of the XXX Olympiad.
The athletes and the Olympic Torch have arrived in London and all is ready for London to become the first city to host three modern Olympic Games. Of course, the Jamaicans will be competing against the rest of the world, but let us not forget other sports that may prove to be just as exciting.
For example, don't forget to watch on Saturday, July 28 when the NBA stars on USA Basketball's 'Dream Team' kick off their quest for gold against Croatia. They are favourites, but can expect heavy competition from the likes of Spain and Argentina.
For tennis fans, matches start on Sunday, July 29 and although the 'big three' has been compromised by the withdrawal of Rafael Nadal, expect Andy Murray to give Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic a run for their money on his home soil; while Serena Williams will also be looking to claim yet another gold medal.
Football fans can look forward to having their palettes whet before the restart of the Englisg Premier League season as Team GB look to unite to win gold in London amongst heavyweights like Brazil and a strong Uruguayan contingent. This begins a day before the opening ceremony: Thursday July 26.
The marquee event for Jamaicans will be the 100m Men's final will be on Sunday, August 5, a day after the Women's final while The Men's and Women's 200m finals will be Thursday, August 9 and Wednesday, August 8 respectively.
Jamaica will have Jason Morgan, Travis Smikle and Allison Randall representing us in the discus for the first time. Samantha Albert will represent us in equestrian while two-time Olympian Alia Atkinson and Kenneth Edwards will wear the black, green and gold in swimming and Tae Kwon Do respectively.
Let us support all our athletes and here is exciting titbit: TIME magazine voted Jamaica's Opening Ceremony kit as the BEST in their Worst and Best Opening Ceremony outfits for London 2012.
