Marco Polo closes the summer
Tuesday, August 31, 2010
ONCE again Lawless Events and DatMad.com gave summer an amazing end with Marco Polo: The Wild Wild Wet. After a successful debut last year, the promoters and patrons were geared up for another round of the much-anticipated summer-closing event.
As it rained, the venue became filled with patrons (particularly the ladies), who were out in swimwear and ready to enjoy both the wet and dry zones. Patrons could not only enter the foam pit and water slide, but also enjoy the mechanical bull or get body painting done by Eon & Robby. There were also a number of booths to visit including a pan chicken spot, Supligen booth, Act II popcorn booth and Red Bull bar.
But, of course, there's no party without music. Spinning were ZJ Sparks, ZJ Ice, ZJ Wahwa and Creep from Chromatic kept patrons moving to a number of old and new hits from start to finish.
Rain or shine, the venue filled to capacity quickly and at 6:00 pm the venue was almost full and the number of persons waiting to come in was almost equivalent to the number of persons already inside. By this time the vibe was peaking and patrons quickly visited booths and found a spot. Closing off around 10:00 pm, patrons partied for every last minute and were surely satisfied.
With top-class entertainment and concept, the event has definitely grown and last year's patrons commended the improvements made. The only suggestion is that next year the promoters get a larger venue and ensure that any stage put in for patrons to party is regulated to ensure that maximum weight and space capacities are not exceeded.
Coming in for the second time, the vibe was great and the patrons were given everything promised. TEENage can definitely call Marco Polo the perfect end to summer, and we're looking forward to a bigger event and a bigger venue for next year.
