Interesting facts

In the cool hills of St Ann, situated just outside Ocho Rios is Northgate High School.

Although it is a new institution, only just opening its doors in September of this year, the heads say it is a school with a difference.

The teachers try not to focus only on 'the education' of the students, they also help to build their self-esteem as well.

The school relies heavily on technology during some classes. They participate in video chat with other schools around the world and learn their language as they do ours.

It has much more impact on the students through that medium. They even go a bit further by having a group from Guadeloupe to teaches French.

The school also tries to engage teachers and some parents who want to learn a second language.
