Teenage
R&B Musically STYLISH
Tuesday, August 31, 2010
WHEN a promoter changes the venue for an event, one automatically assumes that it's for a bigger and better edition; for rhythm and Booze, that was definitely it.
Promoters Mainsource Entertainment, with Smirnoff their title sponsor, sought to make sure that this edition of the event would have been much better than those in the past and it was definitely one with a difference.
The event was held last Saturday at the Lime Golf Academy and on entering the venue one was given a welcoming feeling by the Smirnoff girls. They greeted and offered refreshments before you could even break a sweat because the music was already pumping. A few patrons even decided to stay right there.
R&B boasted a number of refreshment stand like the Tru Juice, Supligen, Maggi, Exotic, Mixology, an ice cream stand and the main refreshment stand; there was something to please every single patron. There was even a paint booth provided by Eon and Robby for those who wanted to indulge in body painting. All the booths were kept active as patrons came out to indulge in nothing else, but a fun night.
Sticking to the theme of the event, musically stylish and fashionably loud, many patrons came out with fashion that screamed "look at me", while others made you wonder "what the heck!" Nonetheless, as the name suggests, the event would not be complete without good rhythm and for the most part, it really was musically stylish. The likes of Karyzma, DJ Narity and Code Red kept the R&B patrons gyrating, and beating the beat (think Jersey Shore).
Not only was the small list of disc jocks liked, patrons particularly enjoyed the rotation and the perfect timing of each hits that the selectors sent into the speakers.
Patrons left the event pleased and some were heard saying it was the best they've seen of the event in a long time.
