Continuing in our 2010 Boys' and Girls' Championship package, TEENage has decided to give an overview of what is to come from title challengers Wolmer's Boys' School.

After finishing amongst the top five for seven years running, the boys from Marescaux Road are now ready to take it one step further into the realm of the top three. Known mostly for their prowess in the field events the maroon and gold clad-boys are looking to make their presence felt on the tracks at this year's Boys' Championships. After a fourth, place finish last year with a young team, coach David Riley believes his team has now garnered enough experience to improve on last year's results.

With 12 national representatives at the helm of his team, Riley believes they possess the depth it needs to challenge for the title. Weary of the strong challenge that will come from perennial favourites Kingston College and Calabar High School, Riley will likely bank on the expertise and strength of CARIFTA double gold medalist Julian Forte, Class Two's champion boy at last year's championships.

Forte, known for his exploits in the long and triple jumps, also has a lot to say and prove with the sprint double in his armory. With the determination and competitive spirit he possesses, the Wolmerian stake in the top three could be a very realistic one.

Other members of the team who are heavily tipped to be among the points include the likes of Dwayne Extol, hurdler Kamal Fuller, quarter miler Ashawni Mitchell, high jumper Ramone Bailey.

Though these athletes will be the more highlighted of the squad, David Riley made sure to mention that it is a matter of principle for them to carry athletes whom the coaching staff believes has a realistic chance of making their respective finals. Also, for participating athletes there is certain standard which has to be met by all those who hope to wear the school's colours at the championships so with all this said let us look forward to a great turn-out from Wolmer's Boys' School.

Another important thing to note is that all of the final-year athletes have expressed a desire to leave high school having the opportunity to be called champions, so this could spur them to surprising feats.
