Oshane Hutchinson

Tuesday, February 02, 2010

After being caught singing in her van by an impressed Serani in mid 2007, Loraine 'Raine' Seville has come quite a long way over the past two years.

With her unwavering passion for music and stern determination to succeed, she is seemingly destined for success and is well on her way of achieving it.

After a very successful 2009, Daseca's first lady is gearing up for a bigger better 2010. With her vocal prowess and her sultry lyrics, Raine is ready to cement her place in the music industry. Her unique sound, which she affectionately calls 'Rhythm and Dancehall' has been captivating the hearts of fans and creating waves both on the local and international scene.

While capitalising on her recent success, it has since been non-stop work for the songstress as she currently has a slew of new projects in the pipe-line, and has collaborated with various artistes inclusive of Konshens, Wasp and Alaine. Also to be released is a track and video with fellow Daseca member Bugle entitled Reserve.

TEENage was informed that she is currently working with various producers such as Daseca, Leftside, Chimney Records and should be doing some work with Stephen 'Di Genius' McGregor. Fans can also expect an album in the near future.

Recently raine has also formed The One Touch Charity which is aimed at helping Jamaican children physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. The charity hopes to make a positive difference in the lives of children.

Despite losing her father at the tender age of seven, Raine informs TEENage that she is greatly inspired by her parents and is grateful for their efforts as she contributed her success to them. She also praises Daseca for being instrumental in her career and recognising her unique talent.

Raine stresses the importance of school and ensuring that you get an education should take priority over everything else, Raine herself currently holds a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing/International Business from The University of Technology.

The singer expects to see her name in lights one day and with the rate of how she's moving, this is a feat that is very realistic. Her progress and potential has been recognised by the masses as she has been nominated for an EME Award this year. Fan's can keep in touch with Raine via Facebook,Twitter and Myspace.
