TEENage has broken down all the movies that will open this year, so you will know what to look out for.

February

Dear John

A romantic drama about a soldier (played by Channing Tatum) who falls for a conservative college student (played Amanda Seyfried) while he's home on leave. The film is an adaptation of Nicholas Spark's novel of the same name.

Valentine's Day

Intertwining couples and singles in Los Angeles break-up and make-up based on the pressures and expectations of Valentine's Day. This romantic comedy has so many A-list stars that it is bound to be a success... or is it?

Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief

A TEENager discovers he's the descendant of a Greek god and sets out on an adventure to settle an ongoing battle between the gods. This film is based off the first book in the series by Rick Riordan. We should expect to see the film adaptation of the rest of the series very soon.

Yellow Handkerchief

Starring New Moon beauty, Kristen Stewart, a road trip through Louisiana transforms three strangers who were originally brought together by their respective feelings of loneliness.

Our Family Wedding

If you're a fan of stand-up comedian Carlos Mencia then you might want to catch this one. The weeks leading up to a young couple's wedding is comedic and stressful, especially as their respective fathers (Forrest Whitaker and Mencia) try to lay to rest their feud.

Alice in Wonderland

The film is an extension to the Lewis Carroll novels Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass. Directed by the renowned Tim Burton, and starring Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter, this fantasy-adventure film already has people looking forward to it.

Bounty Hunter

A bounty hunter (Gerard Butler) learns that his next target is (Jennifer Aniston) his ex-wife, a reporter working on a murder cover-up. Soon after their reunion, the always-at-odds duo, find themselves on a run-for-their-lives adventure.

Remember Me

A drama centred on two people whose newfound relationship is threatened as they try to cope with their respective family tragedies. Twilight heart-throb, Robert Pattinson, stars alongside former 007 agent, Pierce Brosnan, in this film.

The Runaways

Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning star in this music-fuelled story of the groundbreaking, all-girl, TEENage rock band of the 1970s: The Runaways. This film is set to show another side of rock and roll, and also another side of the two young actresses.

Hot Tub Time Machine

Four guy friends, all of them bored with their adult lives, travel back to their respective '80s 'heydays' thanks to a time-bending hot tub.

Season of the Witch

In Season of the Witch, Nicolas Cage plays the role of a crusader whose mission is to transport an accused witch to a remote abbey, where monks will perform a ritual in hopes of ending The Black Plague that has fallen over Europe.

Clash of the Titans

The mortal son of the god Zeus embarks on a perilous journey to stop the underworld and its minions from spreading their evil to Earth as well as the heavens.

How to Train Your Dragon

How to Train Your Dragon is a comedy adventure set in the mythical world of burly Vikings and wild dragons. The film is based of the children's novel by Cressida Cowell.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid

This film is an adaptation of Jeff Kinney's illustrated novel about a wise-cracking junior high school student.

The Last Song

A drama centred on a rebellious girl who is sent to a Southern beach town for the summer to stay with her father. Through their mutual love of music, the estranged duo learn to reconnect. TEEN pop sensation Miley Cyrus stars as Veronica Miller in this coming-of-age drama film.

After Life

A young woman (played by Christina Ricci) is caught between life and death and a funeral director, who appears to have the gift of transitioning the dead, might just be intent on burying her alive.

The Losers

After being betrayed and left for dead, members of a CIA black operations team root out those who targeted them for assassination.

Date Night

In New York City, a case of mistaken identity turns a bored married couple's attempt at a glamorous and romantic evening into something more thrilling and dangerous.

Death at a Funeral

A funeral ceremony turns into a debacle of exposed family secrets and misplaced bodies.

Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps

A young Wall Street trader (played by Shia LaBeouf) partners with disgraced former Wall Street corporate raider Gordon Gekko on a two-tiered mission: To alert the financial community to the coming doom and to find out who was responsible for the death of the young trader's mentor.

Iron Man 2

Iron Man 2 pick's up where the first installment left off. With the world now aware of his dual life as the armoured superhero Iron Man, Tony Stark faces pressure from the government, the press and the public, to share his technology with the military. Unwilling to let go of his invention, Stark, along with Pepper Potts and James 'Rhodey' Rhodes at his side, must forge new alliances and confront powerful enemies.

Furry Vengeance

In the Oregon wilderness, a real estate developer's new housing subdivision faces a unique group of protesters, local woodland creatures who don't want their homes disturbed.

Takers

Chris Brown and rapper TI star in this action-filled blockbuster about a group of bank robbers who find their $20-million plan interrupted by a hard-boiled detective.

Robin Hood

The story of an archer in the army of Richard Coeur de Lion, who fights against the Norman invaders and becomes the legendary hero known as Robin Hood played by method actor Russell Crowe.

Letters to Juliet

An American girl on vacation in Italy finds an unanswered 'letter to Juliet' and she goes on a quest to find the lovers referenced in the letter.

Shrek Forever After

The further adventures of the giant green ogre living in the land of Far, Far Away. This time, however, he makes a deal with Rumpelstiltskin that goes terribly wrong.

Prince of Persia: Sands of Time

Based on the video game, the movie follows an adventurous prince who teams up with a rival princess to stop an angry ruler from unleashing a sandstorm that could destroy the world.

June

Killers

A vacationing woman meets her ideal man, leading to a swift marriage. Back at home, however, their idyllic life is upset when they discover their neighbours could be assassins, who have been contracted to kill the couple.

Get Him to Greek

A record company intern (Jonah Hill) is hired to accompany out-of-control British rock star Aldous Snow (Russell Brand) to a concert at LA's Greek Theatre.

The A-Team

A group of Iraq War veterans looks to clear their name with the US military, who suspect the four men of committing a crime for which they were framed.

Karate Kid

Work causes a single mother to move to China with her young son. In his new home, the boy embraces Kung Fu, taught to him by a master. Starring Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan, Karate Kid is a remake of the 1984 film of the same name.

Jonah Hex

In the Wild West, a scarred bounty hunter tracks a voodoo practitioner bent on liberating the South by raising an army of the undead. The film is based off the DC comics character.

Toy Story 3

Woody, Buzz and the rest of their toy-box friends are dumped in a day-care centre after their owner, Andy, departs for college. This is the third instalment of the Toy Story series and is slated to be released in 3-D.

Grown Ups

Thirty years after their high school graduation, five good friends reunite for a Fourth of July holiday weekend of adventure and laughter. This might be more than just another generic comedy by Adam Sandler and Chris Rock.

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse

Eclipse is the third book from the series by Stephenie Meyer. We are once again thrown into the life love-struck TEENager, Bella, who is caught between the love she has for her vampire boyfriend, Edward, and the strong friendship she has with werewolf, Jacob.

An action-comedy centred on a fugitive couple (Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz) on a glamorous and sometimes deadly adventure where nothing and no one -- not even themselves -- are what they seem.

The Last Airbender

The story follows the adventures of Aang, a young successor to a long line of Avatars, who must put his childhood ways aside and stop the Fire Nation from enslaving the Water and Earth nations. The film is an adaptation of the first season of the animated series: Avatar: The Last Airbender.

Despicable Me

An animated film in which a trio of orphan girls cause the normally deplorable Gru (voiced by Steve Carell) to rethink his plan to steal the moon.

Inception

In a world where entering dreams is possible, a single idea from the human mind can be the most dangerous weapon or the most valuable asset. This contemporary sci-fi film is set within the architecture of the mind.

The Sorcerer's Apprentice

An average college student (Jay Baruchel) is reluctantly recruited to work for a sorcerer (Nicolas Cage) who gives him a crash course in the art and science of magic to prepare him for a battle against the forces of darkness in modern Manhattan.

Salt

Angelina Jolie stars as CIA agent Evelyn Salt in this action thriller. She is accused of being a Russian spy and embarks on an action-filled adventure to prove her innocence.

Beastly

A modern-day take on the Beauty and the Beast tale where a New York TEEN is transformed into a hideous monster in order to find true love.

Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore

The ongoing war between the canine and feline species is put on hold when they join forces to thwart a rogue cat spy with her own sinister plans for conquest.

Little Fockers

The story picks up five years later and Pam and Greg now have kids, twins Henry and Ashley.

August

Step Up 3D

New York's intense street-dancing underground comes alive in Digital 3D in the third instalment of the Step Up franchise as the raw, passion-fuelled culture goes global.

The Other Guys

Starring Dwayne Johnson and Mark Wahlberg as two mismatched New York City detectives who seize an opportunity to step up like the city's top cops whom they idolise. However, things don't quite go as planned.

The Lottery Ticket

Kevin Carson (played by Bow Wow) wins $370 million in a nationwide lottery. When his neighbours discover he has the winning ticket in his possession, Kevin must survive their greedy and sometimes even threatening actions over a three-day holiday weekend before he can claim his prize.

The Expendables

Arnold Schwarzenegger returns to the big screen as a team of mercenaries head to South America on an action-packed mission to overthrow a dictator. This adventure film features stars such as Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, and Bruce Willis.

The Priest

The Priest is about a warrior priest (played by Legion's Paul Bettany) who disobeys church law by teaming with a young sheriff and a priestess to track down a group of renegade vampires who kidnapped his niece.

September

The Town

The film follows the action of four Charlestown, Massachusetts bank robbers as they are pursued by law enforcement.

The Roommate

College student, Sara, finds her safety jeopardised after she's assigned to a dorm room with a new roommate, Rebecca (played by Leighton Meester).

You Again

When a young woman realises her brother is about to marry the girl who bullied her in high school, she sets out to expose the fiancée's true colours. The cast of Kristen Bell, Sigourney Weaver, Betty White, and Jamie Lee Curtis is sure to cause stitches.

October

Let Me In

A bullied young boy befriends a young female vampire who lives in secrecy with her guardian. The film is the remake of the Swedish film, Let The Right One In.

The Social Network

Starring Justin Timberlake, Brenda Song and Jesse Eisenberg as Mark Zuckerberg himself, the film tells the story of the founders of the social-networking website, Facebook.

Your Highness

A fantasy movie about an arrogant, lazy prince (Danny McBride) and his more heroic brother (James Franco) who must complete a quest in order to save their father's kingdom and the damsel (Zooey Deschanel).

Going The Distance

Drew Barrymore and Justin Long star as a couple who find their long-distance relationship wearing thin.

The Zookeeper

The animals at one particular zoo decide to break their code of silence in order to help their lovable zookeeper gain the attention of one particular woman. The cast of voices include Sylvester Stallone, Adam Sandler, Rosario Dawson, Jon Favreau, Judd Apatow and Cher.

November

Due Date

A high-strung father-to-be (Robert Downy Jr) is forced to hitch a ride with a college slacker on a road trip in order to make it to his child's birth on time.

Megamind

A satirical take on superhero movies in which a notorious villain accidentally kills his nemesis and finds that, for him, life without a rival is no life at all.

Rapunzel

The long-haired Princess Rapunzel (voiced by Mandy Moore) has spent her entire life in a tower, but when she falls in love with a bandit (Zachary Levi) who was passing by, she must venture into the outside world for the first time to find him. The film plans to modernise and retell the classic fairy tale.

Faster

An ex-con (Dwayne Johnson, formerly The Rock) is out to avenge his brother's death after they were double-crossed during a heist years ago.

Burlesque

Christina Aguilera makes her dramatic feature debut as Ali, a small-town singer who takes her shot at stardom performing at a new burlesque nightclub in Los Angeles.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1

The last book of the Harry Potter Series has been made into a two-part movie. Since it is the final book, the director, David Yates, and the producers have decided to go out with a bang.

December

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader

The Voyage of The Dawn Treader is the third published book in CS Lewis' fantasy series. The movie follows Lucy and Edmund as they once again embark on another adventure in Narnia.

Life As We Know It

Starring Josh Duhamel and Katherine Heigl as two single adults who become caregivers to an orphaned girl when their mutual best friends die in an accident.

Tron: Legacy

Tron Legacy is a 3-D high-tech adventure set in the digital world and based off the 1981 film, Tron. At the time, Tron had boasted groundbreaking special effects and Tron: Legacy is set to follow suite.

Gulliver's Travel

The film is an adventure film based off the 18th century novel of the same name by Jonathan Swift. The film will star Jack Black as the title character Lemuel Gulliver.

The Green Hornet

This superhero action film features Seth Rogen as the masked crusader himself. It is an adaptation of the radio and television character of the same name.
