Tuesday, October 09, 2012
DANCEHALL star Tifa continues to score hits one after the other. Her latest smash Hold On taken from Washroom Entertainment's Poolside rhythm has slammed into the number-two spot on MTV Base Africa Dancehall chart.
The song is also doing well on charts in Jamaica. It has so far reached number one on CVM-TV's Hit List countdown; number 23 on Richie B's Jamaica Music Countdown Top 25 Dancehall Singles chart; number one on RE-TV and Hype TV video charts; and number six on the Pree Dis Top 10 chart.
In a release to the media, an excited Tifa expressed her thanks to the fans and media for their unwavering support of her work.
"This has been a great year for me career wise and I would like to thank all the fans and the media for continuously supporting my work. The best is yet to come," she said.
The feedback to Hold On has been overwhelming. The accompanying video, which was directed by Ruption and shot on location in New Kingston, is riding high at music video outlets.
"The feedback to the song and the video has been really good. People love the video and it has been doing well on all the charts," Tifa explained.
Get Buck, which was produced by Ward 21, is among the new songs that Tifa is about to release.
Another track generating some serious attention is Hot Gyal Sittin, which was produced by Arif Cooper and featured on the Eva Ready rhythm.
Both Hot Gyal Sittin and Hold On are enjoying steady rotation on influential urban hip hop radio station Hot Boyz Radio in Kenya, Africa. The songs are also doing well in the clubs.
