Wearing pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Hey TEENs, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Now, breast cancer does not often affect women below 40, but this does not mean that it cannot.
Breast cancer in younger women can be aggressive and harder to treat, but more importantly we have to be aware of it even if we’re not at the age where we may be at the most risk.
So, fashionistas, this October Rash-on Fashion will be embracing all things pink and we think you should too. This is in memory of all who have died from the horrid plague of breast cancer and to raise awareness of the issue.
This issue and early detection of it is close and dear to Rash-on Fashion; so we thought while wearing pink why not make it fashionable?
Below are a few ways you can be both fashionable and raise awareness this October. Here’s your weekly dose of Rash-On Fashion. Accessorise! Add simple pink accessories into your every day outfit.
A necklace, pin or shoes. Make a statement, keep it classy and remember the reason you’re wearing it. Ensure that your colours don’t clash; you are a fashionista after all.
Choose shades of pink that are suitable for fall and the changing fashion climes. Deep rose and magenta are great shades to go with. Also, pastel shades of pink are a great success as well.
Stay away from hot pink however, that is for summer and too distracting. Rock a pink cardigan or blazer while going to work, a pink romper while going to the movies or school and a pink hat/shoes while going to church. Wherever you go, add a drop of pink to your outfit. Raise awareness to breast cancer, not just October but all year round. Ensure you make donations too; think pink!
