Weekly Football Round Up
Another exciting week of football has come and gone. Of course many things have happened and we know it is hard to keep up but don’t worry , we have you covered. Continue reading to find out how Chelsea snatched and who they got rid of as well as the latest on the transfer ban on Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid and so much more.
1. The rumours have finally been put to rest as Alexandre Pato has been confirmed to be joining Chelsea . Pato was attending a work permit hearing in London before completing the process of his six months loan to Chelsea from Brazilian club Corinthians. Guus Hiddink , Chelsea’s manager, noted that he does not expect him to be fully fit since Corinthians were just in pre season training and he hasn’t played since November. This was probably a good move from Chelsea and Pato seems genuinely happy to join the Blues.
2.Chelsea’s Ramires joins Chinese Club Jiangsu Suning in a £25million move. We are not really sure why Ramires is moving to a team that finished 9th in China’s top tier in 2015 leaving a team that finished 1st in the the English Premier League. Regardless of the motive he has done quite a bit for Chelsea(such as helping them in the Premier League , FA Cup , League cup , Champions League and a Europe League title) and we wish him luck.
3. Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid have their transfer ban lifted temporarily as FIFA investigates the appeals made by both teams. Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid were previously given a a transfer ban effect for two transfer windows because they allegedly signed youth players. They now have time to make all the relevant transfers. Barcelona had used this time previously for signing Luis Suarez and look how it worked out for them.
4. Manchester United legend Nemanja Vidic has announced his retirement from football. The 34 year old has not played all season after surgery on a hernia and has now decided to bring his footballing career to an end. Vidic has helped Manchester United to win five Premier League titles , three league cups , a Champions League and a Club World cup. Even though he been been signed to Internazionale since 2014 he will be remembered for his days at Manchester United.
5. Trouble seems to be finding Neymar Jr a lot these days. Neymar Jr and Neymar Snr have been ordered by the Brazilian court to pay €100,000 for unpaid taxes between 2007-2008. They are expected to appeal. They still have to answer to the Spanish court this week for controversy surrounding his transfer to Barcelona from Santos.
