Rash-On Fashion
Happy Friday fashionable friends, I hope your holiday week was a blast and you rocked fashionably. We are so used to talking about how to dress and what to wear that we forget the importance of the art of shopping. To some (though I’m really referring to myself) shopping is a ritual that takes years to perfect, and indeed life is too short to not know how to shop.
I know most persons have already completed their back to school shopping, as the summer is undoubtedly waving goodbye.
For those who haven’t gotten the perfect bag or shoe; below are some tips to follow while shopping. This is your weekly dose of Rash-On Fashion:
If you are as indecisive as I am, try not to settle for the first item you see. Chances are, there is something much better at the next store, site or stall. So unless you had already decided prior to shopping what you want, shop around and compare durability, prices and design. Sometimes you’ll even return where you started but at least you’ll now know you’re getting the best.
Most department stores and vendors buy and sell the same products and trends, so again shop around. It is a free market, therefore prices will vary. Look for the best price that is available for the best quality product and grab up that deal.
Don’t be afraid to negotiate prices, especially when shopping at ‘bend down plaza’. When vendors are quick to lower prices without even a complaint from you, chances are they are already making huge profits. Bargain away like the ruthless fashionista you are.
There is a phrase “quality over quantity”, and this definitely applies to the business of shopping. Do not run for things that seem ‘cheap’ or ‘reasonable’. Consider durability and longevity, even buy the more expensive item. I’m sure it will be better in the long run.
If you shop online or at choice boutiques, then this tip is for you. Online stores and boutiques tend to have a myriad of sales throughout the year. At these sales you are sure to get a bargain, even the kimono you have always wanted. Follow your favourite boutique or online store on social media, watch out for sales, deals and promo codes. I’m sure it will be worth your time.
While it’s important to look stylish, it is also important to stay on budget and get the best for less. When shopping, remember to pick quality over quantity and don’t be afraid to beg down a price or two.
