For the opening salvo of the three-day epicurean event mounted by Caribbean Producers Jamaica and held at Round Hill Hotel and Villas — Infiniti Indulgence — the hotel's award-winning executive chef Martin Maginley and caterer Christina Simonitsch presented their perfected culinary fare to appreciative patrons last Friday.

With the cascading waters of the hotel's Infiniti Pool Bar and Sun Deck on one side and cragged rocks breaking the ocean's crashing waves on the next, guests tucked into Chef Maginley's roasted beef tenderloin and veal bone marrow with carmelised onions and truffle breadcrumbs, and Chef Simonitsch's artfully styled menu of leek and blue cheese crème brûlée, grilled octopus, pickled cucumbers, jerk aioli and parsley Scotch bonnet oil, and salmon tartare with beetroot sorbet among her offerings.

As glasses clinked to enjoy weekend-starting sips of the evening's Grey Goose Le Fizz signature cocktail, Thursday Food got a handle on CPJ's and Round Hill's joint culinary venture.
