Add Kingston, Jamaica to the list of major fashion capitals unveiling beauty products. Fresh off the introduction of her Spring/Summer Gimmi Sup'n Nail Lacquer Collection, Annabel Glaze, affectionately dubbed The Colour Whisperer, has gven the Under The Dryer team an exclusive peek at her Fall For Jamaica Collection.

“Fall or Autumn,” explains Glaze, “marks the transition from summer to winter, where the temperature cools down and tends to go largely unnoticed.” Alas, not this season, but we do get the general gist. Bella's Beautique Fall Collection pays tribute to it, but with a decidedly Jamaican cultural twist. It's fab and we're all obsessed!

“Sky Juice,”according to Glaze, conjures up images of the beautiful blue Jamaican sky. However, it is also the name of a popular Jamaican drink served in a clear plastic bag — traditionally made with Kool Aid, Quench Aid, or syrup, with water, sugar and lime juice poured over crushed ice and served with a straw. Sold by vendors at school gates, on the sidewalks, and in the markets, Sky Juice is an iconic beverage.

“Portie” — A term of endearment for the parish of Portland.

“Cake Soap” — A Jamaican laundry soap that, although blue in colour, boosts the washing.

“Duh Road” — A Jamaican slang in the vernacular which translates to “do road”.

“Chocolate Tea” — Jamaican chocolate tea is the most delicious hot chocolate! Made from hand-rolled chocolate balls from Jamaican cocoa beans, dried, roasted, ground, and made into balls with cinnamon and nutmeg. Boil the grated chocolate balls, sweeten with condensed milk and enjoy!

“East Indian” — The East Indian Mango, one of the most celebrated tropical fruits, is originally from East India but gained popularity and fame from Jamaica and the West Indies. The variety is a sweet and succulent mango which will leave the juices dripping from your elbows.

“Ackee Seed” — Named after the shiny black seeds found inside the ackee pod.
