In today's world brunch has become a lifestyle, and in an age of social media the outfits often take the spotlight. But, whilst the perfect brunch ensemble is critical, the most important part of the look is often neglected: the face. Hydrated, sun-protected skin with an effortless, sunkissed glow is the ultimate goal. Under The Dryer (UTD) — with the help of make-up artists Ashleigh Porter and Keneisha Bryan — has identified routines that are smudge-proof and flash-friendy. With a full calender of day events on the horizon for the Heroes' Day weekend, UTD shares make-up tips for ladies who brunch.

Prep, Prime & Set In Place

1. Moisturiser is essential even when applying make-up for day parties. Why? Because it hydrates the skin and helps to prevent cracking and creasing, especially under the eyes. I use the Embryolisse Laboratories Lait-Crème Concentré to moisturise followed by hydrating primer, the Tatcha Silk Canvas Protective Primer, and balance that with the Becca Ever Poreless Priming Perfector on the T-zone.

2. Maybelline Super Stay Full Coverage Foundation, the La Girl Pro HD concealer and the Easy Bake Loose Powder by Huda Beauty are my go-to products.

3. My rule for daytime make-up is less is more. I avoid using a heavy make-up base because that causes creasing and results in a cakey finish.

1. My trick to a long-lasting, flawless brunch beat is a carefully selected combination of primers. The client's face is sprayed with Alcone Company Stop the Sweat.

Milk Makeup Hydro Grip Primer is then applied. Its tackiness helps the foundation adhere better to the skin. A small amount of Becca Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector is applied to the T-zone to help combat oiliness and the Melanie Mills Gleam Body Radiance in Rose Gold is used to add some glow to the matte canvas.

2. Flawless Foundation: I use the Juvia's Place I am Magic Velvety Matte Foundation (435 Punta Cana). It's full-coverage, long-wearing and gives a skin like finish that is perfect for daytime wear.

3. A setting spray duo that delivers: Maybelline New York Lasting Fix Make-up Setting Spray, which offers up to 16 hours of matte finish... followed by a make-up sponge to press into the skin, before setting the entire face with the Huda Beauty Resting Boss Face waterproof setting spray ultra matte finish.
