FALMOUTH, Trelawny-- FORTY-TWO-YEAR-OLD farmer Paul Muschett will today be sworn in as Trelawny's new custos, replacing Royland Barrett who died in January, after serving in the capacity for 18 years.
Governor General Sir Patrick Allen and Attorney General Dorothy Lightbourne are expected to be among the dignitaries in attendance at the ceremony which begins at 2:00 pm in Water Square, Falmouth.
Muschett has been acting in the capacity of custos since February 15.
He spent much of his first day in office meeting with heads of several government departments in the parish, including chairman of the Trelawny Parish Council, Colin Gager and superintendent of police Linette Williams Martin.
The new custos in a recent interview with the Observer West, vowed to use his tenure in office to promote volunteerism in the same vein as his predecessor.
