Classic upset Holland United in TFA President’s Cup

BY PAUL A REID Observer West writer BOUNTY HALL, Trelawny

Thursday, October 25, 2012

PROMOTED Major League team Classic United won the first title of the Trelawny Football Association's 2012-2013 season after scoring an upset 2-1 come-from-behind win over Western Confederation Super League team Holland United in the President's Cup Knock out finals at Bounty Hall on Sunday.

Tamaro Williams scored twice, once in either half for Classic United, who were runners-up in the Trelawny FA Division One last season.

Ronique Haynes had given the Major League champions the lead after only seven minutes, but Williams equalised in the 39th minute before scoring the winner in the 85th minute.

Williams had scored the equaliser for Classic in their semi-final 1-1 draw against Kinloss, before they went on to win in penalty kicks, while Holland had beaten Coopers Pen 3-0 in the other semi-final.
