MONTEGO BAY, St James — A Kingston man who was held on January 10 trying to export about 5lbs of cocaine to Canada was offered bail after pleading guilty to breaches of the Dangerous Drugs Act when he was brought to the Montego Bay Resident Magistrates Court on Monday.

Brandon Geddes, a 22-year-old gas station supervisor of a Mona address who is being represented by attorney at law Martyn Thomas, admitted his guilt and was offered bail in the sum of $350,000 with up to three sureties by Resident Magistrate Vivienne Harris.

Thomas asked the court for a Social Enquiry Report before sentencing.

Geddes who the court heard is a past student of a prestigious Kingston high school and who has nine passes in CXC exams was being processed to lave the island on January 10 when the drugs were found hidden in his suitcase.

If he takes up his bail he is to return to court on March 28 for sentencing. He is to report to the Matilda's Corner police station two days a week and stop orders are to be placed against him at both international airports.
