FALMOUTH, Trelawny - THE driver of the motor car which collided with a bus transporting tourists in the vicinity of Rock in Trelawny on Monday, has been charged with careless driving.

He is 22-year-old Tennison Jarrett of a Montego Bay, St James, address.

Jarrett is booked to appear in the Falmouth Resident Magistrate Court on Tuesday, June 19.

Twenty-five tourists were injured in the crash, which occurred at about 2:00 pm.

The visitors who were en route to Ocho Rios in St Ann from the Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, were taken to the Falmouth Hospital Public Hospital where 22 of them were treated for minor injuries and released. The others were also treated for their injuries, but they were admitted for further observation.

Up to yesterday, the trio, who were later transferred to the Cornwall Regional Hospital, were reportedly still undergoing treatment at that medical facility.

Do you think an increase in JUTC bus fares is justified at this time?
