Duanvale, Granville in big Trelawny clash

Thursday, February 02, 2012

FALMOUTH, Trelawny - LEADERS Duanvale FC could extend their lead in the Trelawny Football Association's National Rums of Jamaica Major League when they take on third-placed Granville FC at the Carter Centre this afternoon.

Duanvale FC lead the standings with 22 points from eight games, three more than second-placed Holland United with Granville further back on 16 points from seven games.

This game is expected to be a closely contested one, as Granville — with one goal conceded — will be putting the competition's best defence against the best offence as Duanvale has scored 16 goals so far.

Granville's Patrick Pinnock is the leading scorer with six strikes so far while Duanvale's duo of Orlando Grey and Velron McLaughlin have scored four each.

In another game today, seventh-placed Exidos So Fresh will host ninth-placed Flames at Friendship in a clash of two struggling teams separated by one point.

Exidos So Fresh are on nine points from seven games, tied with Clarks Town while Flames are on nine points from eight games played.

Three more games will be played on Saturday, Jackson Town will host Spicy Hill, Clarks Town and Friendship will meet at Cedric Titus and Kinloss hosts Holland. On Sunday, Salt Marsh host Prospect Links at Davis Pen and Granville and Exidos So Fresh will meet in a rescheduled game.
