HAMPDEN, TRELAWNY — A memorial service will be held for former Trelawny referee Horace Clarke at the Hampden United Church starting at 11:30 am on Saturday.

Last month the Trelawny football fraternity was thrown in a state of mourning when it was reported that the 42 year-old Clarke was killed in a motor vehicle accident in Bratford, Ontario, Canada.

A referee for more than 10 years, Clarke died as a result of injuries he sustained after he was thrown through the windscreen of the bus in which he and his colleagues were travelling to work.

Clarke, who lived in Bounty Hall, Trelawny, is survived by his wife Kareen and four children.

He had been working in Canada on the Overseas Work Programme since 2007, and at the time of his death was employed to Charity Produce in South Oakland, Ontario.

His body will be interred at the family plot in New Cargen, Trelawny.
