Munro wins big in Milo Junior Grand Prix

ANGELS, St Catherine-Munro College were last weekend officially crowned the boys 4x400m champions as the second staging of the Milo Junior Grand Prix Series came to an end at the GC Foster Classic held in Angels, St Catherine.
Munro who went into the race, the sixth in the series with an unbeatable lead in the series, finished third in the race behind Wolmers Boys' and Holmwood Technical.
Munro who finished with 50 points from three wins, one third place and a fourth place, collected $60,000 and Wolmers who were third in the series and took home $20,000 became the first schools outside of central Jamaica to win money in the series, which is in its second year.
Munro won the first three races, at the STETHS Invitational in January, the JAAA/Jamalco meet and the Milo Western Relays and was fourth at Gibson Relays.
Meanwhile, Holmwood Technical High came away from the series with $157,000, the most won by any one school this year.
Holmwood who won the boys' 4x800m section with 68 points, also finished in the top three in the other three sections to take the largest share of the $500,000 prize offered by the sponsors.
Edwin Allen High who took the girls' 4x800m section with a perfect 72 points in the six meet series and was second in the 4x400m, will collect $105,000 while Manchester High gets $92,000.
