Poor track forces venue switch

MONTEGO BAY, St James - THE poor state of the track at Mannings School has forced the County of Cornwall Athletics Association (COCAA) to switch the Girls Western Champs eliminations to the Herbert Morrison Technical on Tuesday February 14th.

Stephen Smith, president of COCAA told Observer West last week that following the staging of the COCAA/Mannings Development Meet in January, they saw a lot of things that would need sorting out.

"Its unfortunate that Mannings was not able to host the meet as they had indicated early they would be willing to," Smith said, "but after the Mannings meet, it was decided that we should give them some more time to get the track better prepared."

The boys' eliminations will go on at St Elizabeth Technical on February 16 with the finals set for the Montego Bay Sports Complex on Saturday, February 18.

St Elizabeth Technical girls and Munro College boys will defend their respective titles.
