TRURO, Westmoreland - NEWLY promoted Premier League outfit Savannah FC is seeking assistance to complete the much needed perimeter fencing which they have started at the Truro Early Childhood Basic School in Westmoreland.

Windell Dawson, the public relations officer for the club told the Observer West last week that the project was recently started by the club during a work day.

Already, he said, the club has reached out to several hardware stores in the parish for assistance in completing the project "as soon as possible".

Despite a government policy that all early childhood facilities must be fenced, Dawson noted that the school in Truro is yet to have one installed.

He said, while the club has so far received help from the Kiwanis Club of Savanna-la-Mar, more assistance is needed to compete the project.

Savannah FC created local football history earlier this year, by being the first club from western Jamaica to move from the Major League to Premier League in two seasons.

After winning the Westmoreland FA Major League last season, they won the Western Confederation Super League this year, beating Wadadah FC of St James in the finals, before going on to qualify for the Premier League along with Cavalier of KSAFA Confederation.
