MONTEGO BAY, St James - THE St James Football Association has saluted ISSA/Busta All-island Under 16 football champions Cornwall College and coach Leacroft Lettman, after their outstanding treble title-winning season.
Cornwall College completed a successful season three weeks ago after swamping Corporate Area champions Wolmers Boys 7-0 at the Juici Patty field in May Pen.
Alrick Ottey scored a hat-trick in the all-island final, while Kimani Russell, Jordane Fletcher, Tahjay Kelly, and Venton Evans scored one each.
Cornwall had earlier won the Galloway Cup title beating Manchester High 2-1 at St Elizabeth Technical and then won the all-rural title on penalty kicks over Abner Wright champions Glenmuir High at Juici Patties field.
A letter from the St James FA over the signature of General Secretary Bruce Gaynor said: "The St James Football Association wishes to congratulate our own Coach Leacroft Lettman and members of the Cornwall College Under-16 Football Team, for their triple crown success in the U-16 Galloway Cup, Rural Schools Cup and the All-Island Schools Cup. You have proven that humility and dedication is also an important ingredient for success."
The letter continued: "St James FA is proud to be your host parish, and we are happy to have played a part with our sponsors Sandals Resorts International and ATL in your preparations during the summer. We applaud you Sandals/ATL Under-17 champions."
Cornwall had won the St James FA/Sandals/ATL Under-17 title in July.
