St James FA to elect new head on Dec 18

MONTEGO BAY, St James - THE long-awaited Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the St James Football Association will be held on Tuesday, December 18th at the Montego Bay Cricket Club set to start at 6:00 pm.
General Secretary Bruce Gaynor on Tuesday announced the date in accordance with the laws of the St James FA which require that the AGM should be held, 28 days after formal notice is given.
The AGM has been due for the past few weeks but acting President David Watt had announced at the recent awards ceremony that the FA had been awaiting the completion of the auditing of the financial reports.
Watt, who was elected the first vice-president at the last AGM, had been acting for Texchus Nembhard who had taken a “sabbatical” since August due to what he described as a disagreement.
Former Test cricket umpire Steve Bucknor, who lost by one vote to Nembhard two years ago, and present League Director Gregory Daley have announced their intention to contest the presidency.
