LUCEA, Hanover — A resurgent Wadadah could take over the lead in Zone 1 of the Jamaica Football Federation's Captain's Bakery and Grill Western Confederation Super League on Sunday, when they travel to Watson Taylor Park in Lucea to face promoted Jericho Rangers in a Zone 1 game, as the return round gets underway.

Wadadah who will be seeking their third straight win, trails leaders Granville by three points, eight to 11, and a win would see them draw level on points. Granville will be idle on Sunday and won't play until Tuesday afternoon.

After a slow start to the season where they earned just two points from their first three games, Wadadah rebounded by winning their last two games, each by 3-0 margins, to put themselves back into contention.

The St James team is coming off a 3-0 spanking by Invaders, another promoted team, and will start favourites against Jericho, who have won just one of their five games played so far -- a boardroom decision after Invaders had failed to prepare their own field for a game last month.

Jericho Rangers who won the Hanover Major League last season, had drawn their opening game against Wadadah, 3-3, and will hope home grounds will give them an advantage come Sunday.

Also in Zone 1, floundering Frome FC will hope to snap a two games losing skid, when they travel to face Catherine Hall, in a game that sees both team separated by a point.

Frome who has lost their last two games by a 0-5 aggregate, had drawn their first round game 0-0, is in third place on seven points, while Catherine Hall is on six points, having drawn three games and winning one.

In Zone 2, Bamboo FC could also pass leaders Savannah FC who will also be idle, if they win their game against Harmony at Bamboo.

Savannah who will host Mt Pelier on Tuesday, leads with 12 points, two more than the Hanover side, who had won their first game 2-1.

Tomorrow's People will get a chance to avenge their first-round loss to Fogo United when the two St James teams meet at Bickersteth.

Fogo United had won their opening game 1-0 at Jarrett Park and is coming off their second win.

On Tuesday, Wadadah won back-to-back games for the first time this season with a 3-0 win over Invaders at the UDC field and extended their unbeaten run to three games, as they moved two places up to second in Zone 1 on eight points.

Granville United however, maintained their lead with a 2-0 win over a slumping Frome FC at the Sam Sharpe Teachers' College grounds.

After failing to win in their first three games of the season, Wadadah has bounced back strongly with back to back 3-0 wins scoring all three goals on Tuesday in the last 14 minutes of the game.

Christopher Currie gave the St James team the lead after 76 minutes, Dwayne McLemon added a second in the 83rd minute, while player/coach Daniel Ricketts scored his second of the season in the 88th minute to wrap up the points.

After giving up two own goals to lose to Wadadah at home in the previous game, Frome's woes continued when they were beaten by goals from Andrew Allen in the third minute and Davian Thelwell in the 83rd, dropping to third place in the points table on seven points.
