LUCEA, Hanover - The western high schools cross-country championships, the opening event of the County of Cornwall Athletics AssociationÕs (COCAA) 2012-2013 track and field season, has been postponed for a week to facilitate this weekend's Jamaica Triathlon in Rose Hall.

Stephen Smith, president of COCAA said the cross country that was to have been hosted by Rusea's High School today, will now be held next Thursday instead.

"A number of the athletes will be participating in the Triathlon this weekend and we thought it would be to much for them to do both so we decided to push back our event until next week," Smith told Observer West.

The event which will be the first athletics event being hosted by Rusea's High in a number of years will see competition in four categories, Under 16 and Under 19 for both male and female.
