LUCEA, Hanover - A bomb scare at the Lucea courthouse in Hanover forced the posponement of several cases as more than 150 people were evacuated from the building on Wednesday.
Police report that at about 9:55 am, just before the scheduled start of court proceedings, they received the call that a bomb had been planted in the building. Judges, clerks and other personnel were immediately rushed from the building while cops used a public address system to reschedule cases that should have been heard on the day.
A search of the facility by fire personnel and explosive specialists turned up no bomb.
